	The 10th Tokyo International Competition for Chamber Music Composition The aim of this competition is to expand the field of chamber music and promoting the development of quality works. Application procedures are as follows. 1. Qualifications None required. 2. Contest Format 1) Submitted works must be chamber music compositions (solo to quintet) of under 12 minutes in length. 2) Applicants may submit up to 3 works. Works may or may not have been previously performed, but works that have been awarded prizes or have otherwise been published may not be submitted. 3) Instruments which can be used are; flute, oboe, clarinet, faggot, french horn, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, koto, shakuhachi, and vocal. Contestant may compose different parts for the same instrument. 4) Scores should be copied in black ink. Please provide 3 copies of each score submitted. 5) It is prefered that the recording of the composition is submitted. 3. Participation Fee \15,000 for one composition. 4. How to apply Complete the application form, and submit with the composition. Application fee should be sent by wire transfering to the bank account mentioned below. Application Deadline November 8 (Tue), 2005 6. Notification of Result Results will be sent out to all the contestants by mail by December 19 (Mon), 2005. 7. Prizes -First Place : \200,000 and a commemorative gift -Second Place : \100,000 and a commemorative gift -Third Place : Commemorative gift -Runners up : Commemorative gift 8. Judges The panel of judges will be composed of critics and composers (the names of the judges will be announced at the time of notification of the result). 9. Recital The compositions of the contestants achieving First, Second, and Third Place, have the possible performances at the 12th Japan Contemporary Music Festival in August, 2006. 10. Benefits There is the possibility that the compositions of the contestants achieving First, Second, and Third Place will be published by JILA. 11. Other Information 1) Submitted works (including the audio recordings) will not be returned. 2) Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. 3) Any Inquiries about the results cannot be answered. 4) There is the case that the winning works will not be performed at the Japan Contemporary Music Fesival because of the arrangement of the instruments. 12.
