IBLA WORLD COMPETITION FOR PIANISTS, SINGERS, COMPOSERS AND INSTRUMENTALISTS
IBLA Grand Prize
International Piano Competition & Master Classes
Eligibility:

The competition is open to pianists from all over the world and is divided into the following sections: Adult, Young, Four Hands/Duo Piano, Piano Concerto, and Accompanist.


The Adult, Four Hands/Duo Piano, Piano Concerto and Accompanist sections are without age limit.


The Young Section is further divided into:

Category A - pianists born in 1991 or later;
Category B - pianists born in 1988 or later;
Category C - pianists born in 1985 or later;
Category D - pianists born in 1981 or later.


Competitors may enroll in a higher age category than they belong.



Repertory Requirements:


Adult Section: free recital program of approximately 45 minutes (for example: a variety of styles and periods or all works of one composer or all contemporary music, etc.)


Young Section: free program with an approximate duration of 10 minutes for category A, 15 minutes for category B, 20 minutes for category C and 25 minutes for category D


Four Hands/Duo Piano Section: free program of approximately 25 minutes


Piano Concerto Section: one concerto of the pianists\' choice


Piano Accompanist Section: free program of approximately 25 minutes (to accompany piano concerto, strings, winds or voice)



Application Procedures:


Application typed or written in capital letters.


Biographical profile or resume including two recent photos.


Proof of age: copy of birth certificate or copy of passport.


Audition repertoire list including specific duration of each piece.


Application fee of $120 for individual entrants, $160 per duo. We strongly recommend you bring your own accompanist. However, if you require a competition accompanist an additional fee of $200 will be required.

$200 for the Master Class with the Jury.

(All fees are refundable only if not admitted).

The decisions of the Jury are final.


Competitors waive all rights of remuneration for the broadcasting, televising or recording of their performance.


The President, the Artistic directors and the Jury reserve the right to terminate any performance at any time and to withhold any award in any category if the quality of performance is not of a high standard.


For any matter in dispute the decision of the IBLA Foundation President shall be final.


Participation in the competition assumes the unconditional acceptance of the present rules without reservation.


Travel:

Catania airport is the closest airport to Ragusa-Ibla, Italy. You may find direct flights from Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Paris, London, etc. You may be offered the opportunity to perform in open stage evening concerts in Ragusa as well as in other cities associated with the IBLA Festival. The competition will provide the necessary transportation to these locations. However, you are not required to attend throughout the competition; you may leave after your scheduled performances, should you have other commitments.

Bellini International Vocal Competition & Master Classes
Eligibility:

The competition is open to Sopranos, Mezzo-sopranos, Contraltos, Countertenors, Tenors, Baritones, Basses, Jazz Singers, Blues Singers, Gospel Singers from all over the world, with no age limit.



Repertory Requirements:

Free program of approximately 20 minutes. A piano accompanist will be available upon request. Contestant is free to bring his/her own accompanist.



Application Procedures:

Application typed or written in capital letters.


Biographical profile or resume including two recent photos.


Proof of age: copy of birth certificate or copy of passport.


Audition repertoire list including specific duration of each piece.

The competition is open to composers from all over the world with no age limit.



Entry Requirements:

To apply for admission, candidate must submit scores (one copy) of one original compositions.


Cassette, CD or DAT recordings of the composition.


Application Procedures:

Application typed or written in capital letters.


Biographical profile or resume including two recent photos.


Proof of age: copy of birth certificate or copy of passport.


Program including specific duration of each piece.


Application fee of $120 (refundable if not admitted to the competition).

Scores must be available for the Jury.


Copies of the scores and tape recordings will not be returned.


After a review of submitted scores, tapes and live performances by the Competition Jury Committee, the President will contact the winner/s.

Instrumentalists Music Competition & Master Classes
For all instrumentalists (soloists and/or ensemble)
Free program / no age limit

Eligibility:

The competition is open to musicians (string, woodwind, piano, organ, harpsichord) from all over the world and is divided into the following sections: Adult, Young, Solo, Duo, Ensemble.


The Adult Section is without age limit.


The Young Section is further divided into:

Category A - musicians born in 1991 or later;
Category B - musicians born in 1988 or later;
Category C - musicians born in 1985 or later;
Category D - musicians born in 1981 or later.


Competitors may enroll in a higher age category than they belong.



Repertory Requirements:

Adult Solo/Duo/Ensemble Section: free program of approximately 30 minutes.


Young Section (solo-duo-ensemble): program with an approximate duration of

10 minutes for category A,
15 minutes for category B,
20 minutes for category C
25 minutes for category D


Note: repertoire choices are very flexible but all programs are subject to the approval of the IBLA Foundation.
